Moneta Today app is now available for Android
On Monday, December 20th, the Moneta Today app was approved for publication by the Google Play market. Now all Android users can find it, download, and be part of the Moneta Today ecosystem. We would like to tell you about this application, and how it can be useful for you.
Please note that we have released a new Moneta Today app. The old one works with testnet and is going to be used only for testing. You should follow the link to download the new app and delete the old one.
In this release, we have focused on interaction with Moneta Coin, the core of the ecosystem. You can create a new wallet right now. Access to the wallet can only be gained by a mnemonic phrase. If you have previously generated a wallet, you can enter your mnemonic phrase and get access to your wallet.
Make sure to copy and save your mnemonic phrase. Moneta Today is a non-custodial wallet. We do not store your mnemonic phrases and, therefore, do not have access to your wallets. As a result, we will not be able to help you regain access to your wallet if you lose your mnemonic phrase.
If you have 0 MCOIN on your balance, you can get them by sending the address or submitting your QR code. You can also purchase MCOIN on our official website.
As soon as you have some amount of MCOIN on your balance, you can make transfers to other network members’ wallets. The fee for a transfer is 1 MCOIN, a little bit more than 0.1 USDT. The fee on the Moneta Coin network is 12 times lower than on the Tron (TRX) network.
At the time of writing this article, the MCOIN rate is 0.1000022192 USDT. If you want to transfer $10 to somebody, you do not have to calculate that it is 99.997781 MCOIN. All you need to do is just switch to USDT, and the application automatically calculates how much it is in MCOIN. After filling in the amount of MCOIN and the recipient’s address, it will take you 5 seconds to see the result written into the blockchain. You do not have to wait for transaction confirmations because MCOIN’s principle of work is fast finality.
You can see the total amount of MCOIN on the network. Please note that after each transaction, the total supply is reduced by 0.5 MCOIN. This is the burning mechanism that the blockchain protocol is based on — half of the fee gets burned.
We would also like to share our plans for the near future. Very soon iOS users will be able to see the Moneta Today app in the App Store. Traditionally, the processing of an application takes longer. We keep working on this task every day.
